The story debuted on Ruthie's Club (www.ruthiesclub.com)December 3, 2007, and it will appear on Oysters & Chocolate when its six-month exclusivity with Ruthie's Club expires. The editors of Oysters & Chocolate, Jordan LaRousse and Samantha Sade, have also asked Ilan to submit a story to the upcoming Oysters & Chocolate anthology. Oysters & Chocolate has also published the work of Alessia Brio (Fine Flickering Hungers), Gwen Masters (One Breath at a Time), and Justus Roux (Kiss the Moment).

Ilan Mochari is a novelist and journalist living in the Boston area. His short story, "The Father I Knew (and Still Do)," was a finalist in Glimmer Train's 2007 Family Matters competition. He is seeking representation for his debut novel, Zinsky the Obscure, and he is at work on his follow-up, The Ring Behind the Glass. He is a former staff writer for Inc magazine, and he has also written for Fortune Small Business and CFO magazine. He has a B.A. in English from Yale University.
